Burny Bos, founder of the film and television production company BosBros, passed away on December 1, 2023.

Over more than three decades of producing high-quality film and television productions, BosBros left a profound mark on the Dutch landscape of children’s and family films. BosBros also made a strong impression internationally and received many prestigious awards.

Well-known titles such as Abeltje, Minoes, Het Paard van Sinterklaas, Brammetje Baas, and Wiplala have drawn countless children—and the adults accompanying them—to cinemas. To this day, these films remain popular on streaming platforms and are broadcast repeatedly on television.

BosBros productions are characterized by several core principles:

• All productions adopt the child’s perspective

• As a result, all productions touch both children and adults at heart

• This gives the productions a classic, timeless quality

• All productions are made by passionate and experienced creators

In the final years of his life, Burny Bos increasingly focused on developing and producing animated films for children and families.

He did not live to see the first in a series of animation projects reach cinemas. However, during his illness, his wife Linda Snoep became increasingly involved in writing and producing the projects he had conceived and/or initiated.

She has since followed in his footsteps to complete his work.

Together with co-producer Petra Goedings and Jolande Junte of Phanta Film and Phanta Animation, the animation projects have either already been realized or will still be brought to completion.
